What is the difference between a Ticket and a Forum Topic?

Ticket

A Ticket is a way to ask a question, request small updates (new policy wordings, new rating etc..) to your schemes or to report bugs and issues from your schemes (a typo, or a missing cover item etc..) or an issue with the Schemeswriter platform itself. Due to this nature, tickets are usually resolved fairly promptly by one of our knowledgeable and efficient support team.

A ticket should be raised based on the following scenarios, but not limited to these;

  • A small update to your existing scheme; eg. a new rate or policy wordings.
  • A "bug" within your existing scheme; eg. a typo or renewal schedule isn't generating.
  • You have a question about how to do something on the system; eg. How to create a new user or how to change the cover period of an existing policy.

Forum Topic

A forum topic is usually a place for you to request bigger changes (we refer to these as "Change Requests") to your schemes. For example, adding a new section of cover. A forum topic can also be raised when you have a new scheme specification that we are building in Schemeswriter. You can also use the Schemeswriter Feature Requests forum to request new features you think would benefit all users of the platform.

A forum topic should be raised based on the following scenarios, but not limited to these;

  • You require a large update to one of your existing schemes; eg. a new section of cover or a new dynamic document.
  • You are requesting a new scheme to be built on the platform. Please remember we will require a full product specification and underwriting instructions / guide in order to begin work on a new scheme.
  • You have an idea for a new feature within the Schemeswriter platform and you think all users of the platform would benefit from it; eg. Brokers should be able to request cancellation on their policies by clicking a button on the policy screen.
